Staff Emergency Fund Recipient Testimonial:

"Thanks to the Staff Emergency Fund I was able to get my son a surgery he desperately need. I was in a tough place and didn't know where to turn for help. Then I remembered Texas A&M offered this. If it wasn't for them I would have had to put off his surgery again and he would have been in constant pain. I will be forever grateful for this fund.

Staff Emergency Fund Recipient Testimonial:

"2023 has not been a friendly year for me with encountering one disaster after another, after another, and another. Anyone that has had something bad happen knows what it does to your esteem, work life, and home life; like a permanent dark cloud parked on your head. Imagine having two in a two-month period and shudder….now imagine four in three-months. I felt like I was drowning in quicksand.

There was no light in my tunnel until a co-worker recommended that I apply to the Staff Emergency Fund. I shrugged my shoulders and thought, 'Sure, why not? The worse they can do is say no.' I was approved and it gave me a 'hand up', not a 'hand out'. Tah Dah! Light! A little pinpoint of shininess peeping through the dark.

It was enough to let me believe that there is goodness, that it will get better, and that I will be ok. Without the Staff Emergency Fund being available to me when I needed it, I couldn’t tell you any of those things. Thank you sincerely!”

Staff Emergency Fund Recipient Testimonial:

"This Staff Emergency Fund was used to cover parking fees and food for 2 months while my husband was in the hospital at MD Anderson in Houston. He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer on Nov. 30, 2021 and developed what MD Anderson was calling 'Super Pneumonia' in mid-February 2022 and was in their hospital until early April 2022.  He came home on hospice care around April 6 and passed away on April 18, 2022. This fund really helped me out during a very difficult time in my life and I greatly appreciate the assistance."
